The “dirty tire rule”
in kart racing means that once a set of tires hits
the track during a race weekend, that it cannot be cleaned, prepped or
altered in anyway forcing racers to compete on the same tires
through the entire event.
Regardless of how much dirt or debris accumulates on them.
This rule aims to create a more even playing field by
eliminating the
advantage of constantly fresh tire preparation.
